Former President Donald Trump went on a UK expedition this week amid sexual assault and fraud charges against him. According to a new report, Trump might have even more problems to worry about, as his golf courses in Ireland face significant losses.
The Irish Times reported on Tuesday that the company that backs his Doonbeg golf course “has booked accumulated losses of €16.7 million since it was incorporated in 2014 and has never booked an after-tax profit in its annual accounts.”
“Donald Trump’s golf ventures land ever-growing losses, accounts show,” the publication tweeted.
The report also indicates that Trump’s other United Kingdom golf courses face significant losses. They wrote, “A separate company behind the Aberdeen golf course had accumulated losses of £16.5 million (€18.72m) at the end of 2021, while the Turnberry golf and hotel venture had accumulated losses of £82.3 million at the end of the same year.”
Trump “can seek full or partial repayment” of a £40.6 million interest-free loan that Trump gave to the company in 2021, the report said.
They noted that the value of the land went down from €11.8 million to €10.6 million and that the course went from €5.4 million down to €4.4 million.
The former President faces a mountain of issues in addition to these losses. The State of New York charged Donald Trump with 34 counts of business fraud in the first degree. He also is facing a civil suit on a rape case brought forward by E. Jean Carroll, an issue that’s going on right now while Trump golfs in the United Kingdom.
